REVIEW: SKINNY ME TEATOX!

June 30, 2014

Detoxing can be the first step in a weight loss program, or can be a helpful step in maintaining. For me, I decided to try the widely popular australian detox tea as a way to cleanse my body for summer. Not for my summer bod, because we should strive for "summer" bods year round, but just to rid all my toxins so I can enjoy my summer with more energy.

I'll go through this review by discussing the process, details, and results.

1. Process!

The first step in doing the cleanse is, well ordering the tea. You order it on http://www.skinnymetea.com.au/. The 14-day cleanse is $35 USD plus the shipping. You can do shipping with or without tracking. I would recommend with, because it's coming from Australia and it takes a while. I started to get nervous after two weeks, I had to end up e-mailing the company. Alas, I got it on my doorstep from the land down under!
There are two teas. One detox tea with roobios, goji berries, and herbs that make your metabolism faster. You drink this tea every morning with breakfast. The metabolism boost decreases appetite, increases energy, and gives you a clearer head and altogether happier outlook. It's not a bad kind of appetite suppresser, it will just teach you what portions are right for you! This is a loose-leaf tea that works with a tea infuser and tastes great with agave nectar or honey.
As for the second tea, you take it every other night. It's the colon cleanse tea. This tea comes in a tea bag for easier infusing. It has an odd scent, but that's just the herbs. The purpose of this tea is to cleanse all of the junk out of your colon so that you can absorb nutrients better into your body! It's not going to have to riding the porcelain throne all morning... it just works when you have to go! You will notice a difference.

REVIEW: TONE IT UP PERFECT FIT PROTEIN POWDER & BARS

March 21, 2014

Some people are afraid to get into a workout or health eating schedule, however Karina and Katrina of Tone It Up make it a lot easier. They're easy to relate to, their workouts are fun, and their recipes looks delectable! Working out with Karina and Katrina are just like hanging out with two of your girlfriends. If you haven't headed over to http://toneitup.com/ then you should -- now!

They also make chocolate and vanilla protein powder, protein bars, and women's multivitamins on http://www.shoptoneitup.com/collections/perfect-fit. Today, I'll be reviewing the vanilla protein powder, and the Organic Chocolate Peanut Protein Bars!

I'm an absolute chocolate and peanut butter freak, as most people are (unless you're allergic, in that case I'm so sorry). I'm imagining waterfalls of chocolate and peanut butter right now as we speak. I love that this is a perfect, healthy chocolate peanut butter snack that I can feel good about. It has 7g of protein and 5g of fiber. 190 calories makes it a perfect snack, or pre/post workout! Pick yourself up one for $16 a box.

Perfect fit makes chocolate and vanilla protein powder. You can easily replace any recipe that calls for dough with it. It's way healthier, and adds protein and flavor! 70 cals for a packet of vanilla, and 80 cals for a packet of chocolate. Add it to shakes, pancakes, muffins, quiches, and more! There are no traces of gluten, soy, corn, GMOs, dairy, lactose, or fat. I think we've got all our bases covered here.

Now do you wanna see this powder in live action? Here's my recipe for peanut butter protein pancakes!

Ingredients:
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 tbsp. all natural peanut butter
  • 1 packet of Perfect Fit protein Powder
  • 1/2 cup Almond Milk

1. Blend the egg, one banana, milk and peanut butter in a blender.
2. Slice up the second banana and mix it with the other ingredients and the protein powder in a bowl.
3. Heat a stove top to medium heat, and coat a pan with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
4. Cook and flip the pancakes until they are brown on both sides.
5. Enjoy!

They were delicious! I hope you're all better at flipping pancakes than me. Oops! if you're interested in more, head on over to toneitup.com!

Lifestyle: What Inspires You?

April 14, 2013

Inspiration boards are a fun way to collect your thought and inspire your life. It's basically taking your thoughts, your future plans, your favorites, even your memories and posting them on your wall. When you think about it - it's pretty intimate. But to me, it's an inspiring thing to look at when I hit a block. Not only it is great for the mind, but it's a great addition to your wall. I lovelovelove collages. Will you be updating your inspiration board when you do spring cleaning?
What's on yours? Mine is filled with fringed bikinis, tye-dye vans, hi-lo dresses, fitspo, lacrosse puns, starbucks, and the wonder years. My spring favorites, basically!

Also, since I'm still rearranging and cleaning my room, I found a cute way to organize all of my books and shoes. This was I can conceptualize my outfit, makeup, and now shoes all without having to leave my room. I am in LOVE with how my shoes are displayed on this beautiful bookshelf I found at a thrift store for only $40.

Love it? Hope you enjoyed this quick post - a Pacsun/American Eagle/ Bare Essentials haul is coming your way. Here's a preview:

Happy spring cleaning!
